Named after the late John Peters Humphrey, the principal drafter of the United Nation Declaration of Human Rights, the Centre’s mission is to advance the universal implementation of human rights through teaching and education of all people, with a specific focus on children and youth. A commitment to human rights, we envision, will move us towards a sustainable peace and human development, locally and internationally.

Youth Action Project

The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights would like to engage youth leaders in its Reach Out, Speak Up: Ignite Change Now! Youth Action Project . The project will be a professional development and education program that will train youth leadership and facilitation skills to assist Alberta youth with increasing their capacity to enact social change in their local communities.
